Weapons of Refusal
11:11
|
|
||
try to capture
while clutching at your chest
a scrap or fragment
of your hope, lost long ago
blistering palms
and your knuckles pale, spectral
new death
born timid and companionless
hunting immunity
everyone ceasing their quivering
a desperate and dying wish
heartbreak to strangle complacency
and banish all prior dusks
gasping lungs beg
for the fires to cauterize
you huddled in trenches
from the glare of derision
in the jaws of disfavor
each a daughter of contempt
who would unsheathe in vengeance
one thousand blades glinting
and bury all cycles of abuse
uneulogized
this the only promise
there will be no appeal
for your mercy
sick with their pride
they will writhe in the gaze
of their fathers
and howl, crushed by the
weight of their misdeeds
no one ever mended
nothing ever reconciled
so sings the choir
boundless ruin will
find your captors
crescent in you, glittering torch of
those disfigured, with fury renewed
expel every deceit you swallowed
choke not on their histories
but flourish
breathing free air once again
you will undo their works
you will make cinders of their cities
baring your teeth, wielding the
weapons of refusal
matching their violence

New Inertia
08:53
|
|
||
displaying a reverence for knowledge
unalloyed and flagrant
parading devotionless to the erudite
assembled in the spirit of forgery
zealot and partisan of the ailings of discipline
countless victims pierced by the daggers of mimicry
seeking the light of direction
offered as a pledge to certainty
severing as a ritual the searching hand
relinquish and malign the tactile
wounds robed
vulgar in the ornaments of aspect
rushing headlong to the surface
suspended in a new inertia
a cloak to preclude acceptance
flailing unforgiven
shielded by myth articulate
take flight
such fictions will not avail
acknowledge them before you
all waning to mineral
aureate dissent in the shackles
of significance
inviolate cruelty
to the mortal structure
endorsing affliction
skull splintering like dull glass
a discarded mosaic

On ne mérite pas cet endroit

Last Empty Tradition
09:52
|
|
||
loyal to the shapes they delineate
intolerance the marrow of their poetry
abject borrowed luxury
cenotaphs pledged to daughters still living
engraved in the foul script of disregard
uncaring blind marriage to disrepair
hollow architects plying frameworks
built to author our bondage to sorrow
broadcast the
unfettered parlance of distance
through the airwaves
impregnable
to the fangs of the venomous
emblazoned shield and
tempered steel to bleed those
who have sworn oaths to subjugate
everything with a beating heart
last empty tradition
demand restitution
for their courtship with autocracy
that exhumes and rekindles old enmity
smoldering in the eyes of their sons
when their parapets crumble
they will not be acquitted
yet their blood will not stain our hands
shatter entire mythologies
bearing armaments of impulse
and no heart closed to the want of another
and no shape without movement

Memory at Night
09:08
|
|
||
corporeal symptoms of influence
proliferate and beset the unwatchful
and the unstudied night waits
malevolent and conspiring
proximal to the living mind’s accomplice
a corrupt nostalgia
nourish your dread, quiet sentinel
submit to the passage of no finality
stand adjacent to the halls of obscurity
assailed by perplexing cacophony
last declension
no paths to follow
apparitions conduct their transparency
fielding the vague recollections
bearing gifts of nauseous opacity
perfect corruption intangible
memory at night is a subtlety
rain pattering on the canopies
of collective disquiet
old doubt flung careless
to the certitude that kept you
bliss came into existence
solely to unravel
